A concept map is a way to get all the main ideas of a topic all together in an organized manor. While writing a lesson it could be helpful to use a concept map to break down each part of that topic and how you may teach it and follow all standards and objectives. The above concept map is one that I created for a class assignment. I chose the topic parts of speech because I feel this is something that needs to be taught in a well organized manor to be done properly. When I was in elementary school I had trouble within the parts of speech because to me the all seemed as one. If I had a tool such as a concept map like the one above which could even further more be broken down by adding examples, I wouldn't of struggled as much in learning the parts of speech. In order to help our students succeed it is important that we stay organized and on task, and concept maps could help us to do so.
This was another fun cute assignment I had to do for my web literacy education class. We were assigned to create a comic strip involving an area of STEM (Science, Technology, Math, Engineering), or literacy and language. Since todays world is so technology inept and very involved in digital media and using the internet I thought this would be a funny idea. I always remember growing up learning to find facts and information through various sources and how to check if those sources were legitimate and the information was accurate. The biggest rule of thumb was never ever use Wikipedia, or a similar site. In todays world students may feel pressured or rushed on writing a paper or even feel they do not understand their topic enough and are afraid to ask, Those students turn to the internet for help and a lot of times their lack of knowledge on reliable sources can hurt them in the end. It is very important that students know that they need these reliable sources and furthermore they need to know and understand where to find them.
This is my educational pinterest board. I've been a user of pinterest for a long time now and it wasn't until about eight months ago when I decided to start using the site for educational purposes. I noticed some ideas involving education popping up in my main home screen and as I looked at them I found them to be super helpful for ideas as far as planning lessons or new ways to get students engaged to name a couple. I found it super helpful being that I am still a student learning how to become a teacher, it's sometimes hard to put your ideas together or figure out what is going to work. Having a site like pinterest which has the ideas of many already experienced teachers makes it very easy to access new ideas when you may be stuck on something or unsure how to engage your students in a particular activity. Here is a direct link to my "Teaching" board on my pinterest account: https://www.pinterest.com/ginnydean56/teaching/

I feel having a twitter account for educational purposes could be very beneficial in the classroom. We are living in an age of technology utilizing twitter in the classroom could help you keep in touch with students and even offer them help in their studies or post interesting things regarding to your field of education. While I do think this is more beneficial to older students (high school aged).
So for a current assignment in one of my education classes for web literacy I had to use this website ( http://www.picassohead.com/create.html) to create a self image or portrait of myself. Ill start of by saying I know myself image is rather silly, I am in no sense of the word an artist. I think this is an awesome idea though creative or not. To have students depict themselves could actually be very useful for a teacher. You could learn a lot about your students by seeing how they view themselves or the world.
